I've been absent recently. Hoping to make a comeback in terms of productivity and art output.
To get back into the swing of things I am entering an OGA contest with a little, lowpoly 3d model. Mainly done as texturing practice (if anyone has any tips, feel free to share).

Update
I'm still around, but real life has taken precedence. Will be focusing on my drawing in the new few months, and might post when I get it to a satisfactory state.

Basilisk
A contribution to the game Unvanquished.
The original concept was done by one of their talented artists.
Detailed sculpt based off the low poly model (below)
Low Poly version, shown with normal map and ambient occlusion
It is about 3800 triangles, but the mesh itself is mostly squares. The sculpt is just over 1 million triangles.

Insect - Sculpt
Another sculpt, a heavily armored insect-like creature, done over the course of an afternoon (just doodling when I had a minute).

Demon - Low Poly - Work In Progress
Wireframe Blender Viewport Screengrab
1860 Faces (Tris/Quads, before triangulation)
3490 Triangulated
Low Poly - OpenGL, flat shaded screengrab
Low Poly + Baked normals
Baked Ambient Occlusion
AO + Normals (with extra lighting)
It is all UV mapped, still a while to go yet. I am going to texture this next, then rig it and even give animating a go.
After all that, I am releasing it under an open source license (Creative Commons 3)

Quick Sculpt, The First
Sculpt - 1 Hour in Sculptris with a Wacom
Pretty much my very first complete sculpt in Sculptris, or at least the 1st one worth sharing.
Day 1;
Hey folks, this blog is going to be a spot for me to post my work in progress art and other projects. It will differ from my portfolio in that I will be posting things like rough sketches as well as my more finished works.
